Collaborative Focus

The Alliance’s Construction/Skills trade committee is focused on engaging area high schools and post-secondary schools in career pathways available in the construction and skilled trades industry. Like many other industries, construction is facing a workforce shortage that is projected to increase in the coming years.

By partnering with area high schools, the Construction/Skills Trade committee works to engage students, parents and educators to learn more about career pathways, salaries and options available in the skilled trades. Annually, the Construction/Skills Trade committee participates in the Alliance’s MADE Career Fair, which brings 800 high school students to learn about career paths in the manufacturing, construction, engineering and automotive industries.
